Funding In today’s workplace Health and Safety is not only important but essential. Under the Health and Safety at Work Act, workplace competence must be clearly demonstrated.  In construction and construction related activity, CSCS and CPCS cards are required to obtain access to building developments both residential and commercial. With recent changes to the card schemes, your employees will not be able to gain a full competence card in any occupation without the achievement of the relevant National Vocational Qualification. NVQ’s are designed specifically to demonstrate occupational competence in the workplace. NVQ Level 2 is the Government’s target minimum level of qualification for the entire UK workforce by 2011.  To assist companies to reach this goal the Learning and Skills Council introduced “Train to Gain” funding to subsidise the cost of adult learning and qualifications. Train to Gain is available to Employers of all sizes, across all industry sectors.
